Anti-Vibration Components in Testing & Laboratory Conditions

Removing every last source of vibration from a test environment isn’t easy. Environmental vibration, from seismic disruptions to passing traffic can be particularly difficult to isolate, but other environmental and test/experiment-specific factors are easier to address, and Fibet’s mounts, stops and buffers can help.

Environmental factors

  • HVAC
Heating and air conditioning systems can create unintended resonances throughout buildings, thanks to motors, rotating blades and air movement. Our anti-vibration universal mounts can isolate HVAC units and reduce noise (actual and transient) and vibration levels in all HVAC products.

  • Lifts
When vibration from lifts systems can transfer from gears and motors to adjacent rooms, Fibet’s wide range of mounts and conical buffers can provide shock absorption and cushioning that inhibits vibration in test labs and other parts of the building.

Experiment-specific factors

In-test sources of vibration can come from virtually anywhere: the hum of the fan in a computer or monitoring equipment, or the motor of an air compressor, pump, centrifuge or refrigeration system. The challenge, then, is to reduce as much as possible the sources of vibration introduced to the test area.

  • Bobbin mounts
Our bobbin mounts enable shock absorption and vibration isolation in a wide range of electronic applications including sensitive measurement equipment, computers, printers and other small machinery.

  • Bell and pedestal mounts
Even a small table top compressor or motor can introduce a complex cocktail of lateral and rotational forces, with potential for vibration to be compounded by resonance along pipes, ducts and cables. Fibet’s rubber mountings can dramatically reduce the effect of vibrational forces.

Technical Competence

Our technical expertise is market leading, with high levels of experience gained over 60 years in all applications.

The technical support we can offer include product conceptualisation, design/ development (for the products, tooling and processes), product validation (via life cycle or durability testing), and implementation into full volume production.

All this is project managed inhouse, with design/development performed using the latest CAE/FEA systems, tooling developed and manufactured inhouse, testing using one of the most comprehensive laboratories in the industry, and implementation using the wide range of plant and equipment available.

As we are able to provide a full turnkey service from concept stage, through to initial prototypes (usually within a small number of weeks from go ahead), then onto production volumes within the critical milestones set out by the customer, our NPI leadtimes are unbeatable within the industry.

Finally, all our activities are closely controlled in accordance with ISO9001:2015 & IATF16949:2016.

The Fibet Group hold Quality Certification for ISO9001:2015 and ISO TS16949:2009, which can be viewed below:
